Like most Golden Retrievers, Gunner is adorable, friendly and loves to make new friends. But unlike most dogs, Gunner’s best friend is a dolphin named Delta.
The pair became fast friends when Gunner was 8 weeks old and Delta was 4 years old. Although their friendship is like a fairy tale, a recent photo on Twitter has caused quite a stir
A guy named Ken posted a picture on Twitter of Gunner giving Delta a big wet doggy kiss. Next to the photo, Ken wrote: “Sorry to interrupt, important news.”
Since the article was written, the picture has been liked by more than 1.3 million people and shared by hundreds of thousands.
One woman replied to the tweet, “I love this! My heart has been very heavy lately, but this makes me feel a little relieved. Thank you!”
Delta lives at the Dolphin Research Center in Grassy Key, Florida, and Gunner has been hanging out with her fin-friend since the beginning. Staff at the Center shared a throwback photo of the pair so followers could see how the friendship has evolved.
