At last, the revealing truth is out, shedding light on what’s behind the perfect selfie. Here’s how cheap Instagram stars get busted.
Instagram model Rianne Meijer, with 628,000 followers on her page, is determined to reveal the secrets of the perfect social media picture and show us what’s really going on. Her gallery, uploaded to boredpanda.com, is truly surprising, a kind of chin-down.
Not all that glitters is gold
The young girl, who has been on the cover of Cosmopolitan and featured in advertisements for the H&M chain, tries to stay close to reality in her online presence and in real life.
In an age where fake is the new fashion, and plastic is the new fashion, it’s refreshing to meet models and a following that still knows what reality is and wants to represent it.
She is not alone in what she stands for
Throughout her career, she has come into contact with many people who share her views. One of them is Louisa Northcote, an activist in the #freethepimple movement, who also believes that the trending content on Instagram presents a false image of the human figure and the female-male ideal.
To this end, she decided to post her pictures without make-up, just in her human form, unretouched, to give some reality to her following.
Two amazing models with a common goal for healthy self-esteem
Both are fantastic models, and beautiful too, without make-up or retouching. One of the goals of their work is to be role models who are natural. In addition, they are an encouragement to anyone who feels bad about themselves because their figure is not “ideal”.
They believe that speaking up about dissatisfaction with our appearance, embracing blemishes, spots, scars, colour differences, webbing and other “non-ideal” shapes helps with self-acceptance. This is seen as the most important step on the path to loving ourselves, because everything else is just deception and lies.
