Everyone is interested in first impressions, especially celebrities, as they are usually the centre of attention. Some of them take huge risks to steal the limelight and manage to put on the most daring look of the night. And if you don’t believe us, we’ve gathered 15 examples of stars who are as gorgeous as they are unique in the outfits they wear.

1. Kylie Jenner

At the 2017 Met Gala, the famous model wore a Versace gown made of mesh and adorned with jewels, fans and beautiful gold flowers, which made her unusual outfit very elegant on the red carpet.

2. Christina Aguilera

At the 2018 Harper’s Bazaar event, the main attraction of Christina Aguilera’s dress was not the fabric, but the feathers that covered it. The dress, designed by Carine Roitfeld, certainly caught the eye of everyone at the time.

3. Solange Knowles

At the 2021 Met Gala, the famous singer wore a dress that looked like a statue. While it wasn’t very comfortable, it certainly drew all the camera flashes.

At the 2021 Met Gala, the model wore a Dolce & Gabbana dress with a large skirt decorated with feathers that reminded her of a classic medieval dress or perhaps a cage. But regardless, the outfit was definitely out of this world.

6. Lil Nas X

Certainly Iman’s outfit was the talk of the town, and Lil Nas X didn’t want to be left out of it. So at the MTV Video Music Awards, he wore a similar outfit, with the original skirt and giant headdress, but in black.

7. Joy Villa

As extravagant as it may seem, Joy Villa’s outfit was not a Halloween costume, but an avant-garde outfit she wore at the 2016 Grammys. Undoubtedly, if there was an award for the most extraordinary dress, she would have won it.

8. Gigi Hadid

Most celebrities tend to wear more or less flamboyant outfits to different events. However, Gigi Hadid decided to attend the 2019 Met Gala in a white, silver and gold striped body-hugging one-piece, accompanied by a feathered headpiece. She also had her eyelashes done in white, which made her look like a snow queen.

9. Megan Pormer

At the 2019 New York amfAR Gala, model Megan Pormer wore a haute couture gown that had a bit of a Demona vibe. And while she probably stole the limelight, we wonder if she was comfortable walking around with so much on her arms and especially her face.

10 Frances McDormand

McDormand didn’t have enough of a dress to wear to the 2018 Met Gala, so she added a bouquet of leaves on her head as if it were a hat. A bit of a crazy decision, but we have to admit she wore this accessory with style and conviction.

11. Fredrik Robertsson

At the 2022 Met Gala, Creative Director Fredrik Robertsson wore a custom-designed, digitally printed jumpsuit made from recycled materials. The gravity-defying “feathers” that adorned his suit were also laser-cut. It took twelve people and a total of 750 hours of work to make this dress, and she only wore it for one night!

12. Paris Hilton

At the 2018 amfAR gala, Paris Hilton wore a dress designed by Nicolas Jebran that looked like a modern version of Venus de Milo in its transparency and floral embellishment.

13th Cate Blanchett

At the 2018 Cannes Film Festival, Cate Blanchett wore an Iris van Herpen dress that took 300 hours to custom make. Not only did it take a lot of time, but it also required manual labour and laser-cutting machines to create the three-dimensional silhouettes of the dress, which simulate leaves.

14. Z LaLa

On the red carpet of the 2016 Billboard Music Awards, the singer wore an all-black party dress with a skirt that looked like a cage and a towering wig. Her entire outfit was designed by stylist Mel Ottenberg.

15th Beyoncé

At the 2015 Met Gala, Beyoncé wore a dress designed by Givenchy. It was made of sheer fabric and adorned with beautiful and colourful stones, which subtly accentuated the singer’s beautiful figure.

Why do you think celebrities choose such extravagant dresses? If you had the chance to walk down the red carpet, what would be your ideal dress?
